Swtan is located in Church Bay, a beautiful coastal bay location on the west coast of the Isle of Anglesey, only a 15 minute drive from Holyhead. The area around Swtan is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, features wonderful beaches, fabulous coastline, many interesting natural attractions and the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path, which passes within yards of the cottage. Therefore you can easily combine a visit to Swtan with many other great places to visit locally, such as:
- Llynon Mill (the only working windmill in Anglesey)
- the beaches of Church Bay, Borthwen, Sandy Beach and Cemaes
- the RSPB nature reserve at Cemlyn
- the fishing village of Cemaes
- the copper town of Amlwch and Parys mountain
- the Maritime Museum at Holyhead
Directions to Swtan from Valley Follow the A5025 through the villages of Llanynghenedl and Llanfachraeth until you reach Llanfaethlu. Then take the turning left in Llanfaethlu signposted ‘Church Bay’, past Griffith Reade Coffee House, and after approximately a mile and a half this road will then bring you the hamlet of Church Bay. Turn left towards the beach and follow the BLUE signs that will lead you to a car park right next to Swtan.
Directions to Swtan from Amlwch Follow signs for Valley (A5025) from Amlwch, passing through Bull Bay and Cemaes, and passing Wylfa Power Station on your right, until you reach the village of Llanrhyddlad. Turn right by Ysgol Cylch y Gam (signposted ‘Church Bay’), follow this road past the village of Rhydwyn to the left and turn right at the end of the road. Down the hill pass the church on your right, Swtan can be seen from this elevated position above the beach. Follow the signs to the beach, then follow the BLUE signs that will lead you to Swtan.
